Macallan Whisky Maker’s Edition has been personally crafted by the distillery’s manager, Bob Dalgarno, from a mix of sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at his preferred drinking strength of 42.8%.
From place and production, to people and passion. The Macallan is the result of such defining mastery and intricacy, it is unmatched; peerless in each and every way. This is the definition of the “Peerless Spirit”.
In 2009, world renown photographer Nick Veasey was asked to create custom images for Macallan. This is known as the “X-Ray” series as he used an x-ray machine instead of a traditional camera. The complete set contains 6 unique boxes.

Building from the predecessors “Johnnie Walker Blue Label” and “King George V”, this blend takes the idea of hand selection of extraordinary casks, and takes that to new levels of rarity and craft. Every care has been made to recreate the authentic flavours of a 19th Century blend in John Walker’s original style and the whisky has been taken from a range of distilleries, some of which are now closed; making this whisky quite literally priceless.

Encasing the gift is a hand crafted lacquer cabinet with over 60 hours of workmanship used to create the eleven layers of lacquer and luxurious cream leather interior. A complex, rich whisky with layers of flavour in which an array of fruit aromas come together in harmony, balanced with warming spices and a soft, rolling smoke redolent of the rich array of exotic goods on offer. Dried fruit such as sultanas and figs are sweetened by hints of candied ginger, before berries, brown sugar and aromatic spices fill up the senses.
