A limited release of Johnnie Walker's most premium brand. The Ghost and Rare blends will focus on Scotland's lost and sorely missed distilleries, with this first release built around malt from the legendary Brora. Other "Ghosts" rearing their welcome heads from the annals of whisky history is malt from lost Speyside distillery Pittyvaich, and Cambus grain, which closed in 2002 and 1993 respectively. Given that Brora shut it's doors in 1983, were talking about whisky that was distilled at least 34 years ago! Speaking of the Ghost and Rare series, master blender Jim Beveridge had the following to say: “Whiskies from these ghost distilleries are becoming increasingly rare. It may be hard to imagine today, but for much of the 20th century, Macallan was primarily a constituent malt in blends. It was not until the 1980s downturn in the market that the distillery decided to focus on its single malt brand. Fortuitously, this coincided with the crest of a wave of enthusiasm for the high quality releases that the distillery had licensed to Campbell, Hope & King and Gordon & MacPhail in the 1960s and 1970s. These remain some of the most collectible on the market. While global single malt sales volume is still lead by Speyside neighbours, Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, Macallan is easily the most sought after. So much so in fact, that they had to open a brand new distillery in 2018, a subterranean architectural masterpiece within the Easter Elchies estate, boasting 36 copper pot stills.
This is the fourth release of the Classic Cut series, first introduced in 2017. The expression takes its name from the third of Macallan's six pillars, known as the "finest cut," in reference to their selection of only the most superior quality spirit from their stills.

The second release in Macallan's limited-edition Concept series, this Highland single malt brings together music and whisky - two of the passions of Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner. Matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak casks, ex-bourbon casks and Miguel Martin sherry casks, creating a complex character with aromas of toffee apples, vanilla, oak spice, blackberry and pistachio on the nose. The palate offers notes of dried apple, almond, cinnamon, toasted oak and sweet toffee.

Introducing Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast; the result of an experiment led by blender Aimée Gibson, which involved distilling whiskies with barley roasted more heavily than ever before. This experiment created a malt with incredibly rich, dark chocolate notes. This unusually intense flavour was then balanced with other whiskies matured in rejuvenated casks to add a light spiciness and first fill Bourbon casks ensured a subtle vanilla sweetness. The end result is Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Espresso Roast, a rich Scotch blend, with a deep warmth and confidently punchy notes of rich coffee and dark chocolate that works brilliantly served neat in an espresso cup.
