The most complex edition to date, 2016 is third bottling in the John Walker & Sons Private Collection series, continuing the themes of the incredibly limited Directors' Collection and offering these small batch editions of Johnnie Walker to a wider audience. This edition, titled 'Fine Honeyed Notes', focuses on the sweeter flavours within the Johnnie Walker range, with some of the 100 casks coming from four closed grain distilleries – Caledonian, Cambus, Carsebridge and Port Dundas.

A limited release of Johnnie Walker's most premium brand. The Ghost and Rare blends will focus on Scotland's lost and sorely missed distilleries, with this first release built around malt from the legendary Brora. Other "Ghosts" rearing their welcome heads from the annals of whisky history is malt from lost Speyside distillery Pittyvaich, and Cambus grain, which closed in 2002 and 1993 respectively. Given that Brora shut it's doors in 1983, were talking about whisky that was distilled at least 34 years ago! Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Espresso Roast
Introducing Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast; the result of an experiment led by blender Aimée Gibson, which involved distilling whiskies with barley roasted more heavily than ever before. This experiment created a malt with incredibly rich, dark chocolate notes. This unusually intense flavour was then balanced with other whiskies matured in rejuvenated casks to add a light spiciness and first fill Bourbon casks ensured a subtle vanilla sweetness. The end result is Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Espresso Roast, a rich Scotch blend, with a deep warmth and confidently punchy notes of rich coffee and dark chocolate that works brilliantly served neat in an espresso cup.
