A limited-edition release of Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask, with a gift tin featuring a photograph of a cask by Magnum photographer Alex Soth. Double Cask brings together two distinct styles of whisky from the distillery: American-oak sherry casks and European-oak sherry casks. The combination digs into the flavour profile of both different types of wood – bring a range of spice and fruity flavours – as well as rich sherry character.

A MOST COMPLEX RELEASE
There remain at The Macallan Estate rare, black-ended casks holding peated Macallan. The smoke-infused spirit matured in these sherry seasoned oak casks has gathered distinction and depth over decades.
Flavour notes of warming wood spices open to dark chocolate and ginger, with a rare, lingering, and characterful peat
trace. An affectionate history of a whisky, it expressively chronicles bygone crafts of the generations that made it. Those lucky to meet it will never forget their rendezvous.
Subtly smoky and brooding it may be, but the whisky possesses the spark and breeding of a true Macallan. In its honour, its new home is hand crafted from black Lalique crystal.
A CELEBRATION OF MASTERY
One of the most challenging materials in the glass blower's repertoire, requiring more time and resource to produce than clear crystal. These individually numbered, slim and elegant decanters are flawless.
Their six facets are the inspirational acknowledgement of The Macallan's defining six pillars.
Designed by the Gallic creative visionary, Fabien Baron, the decanter was one of the most challenging that Lalique, true masters of the art, had encountered. Contemporary yet classical, their iconic realisation is a reverential triumph.

The Macallan REFLEXION represents the natural colour and beauty of The Macallan - a true reflection of the foremost influence of first fill sherry seasoned oak casks. This exceptional single malt has drawn its color and flavor from maturation in smaller hogshead casks allowing a greater surface area of wood to interact with the whisky to deliver an intricate character driven by the influence of both Spanish and American oak casks. A deep red mahogany hue, taken directly from the cask, is beautifully enhanced by the angular facets of the carefully crafted decanter. The depth of color coupled with the complex flavor of REFLEXION, derive from the casks selected for this distinctive expression by The Macallan's Master Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno. The Macallan whisky making team met with Sir Peter Blake who inspired the careful selection of casks, each with complementary iconic characters joining to create a complex yet perfectly balanced single malt whisky representative of the Macallan's exceptional heritage.

Macallan Whisky Maker’s Edition has been personally crafted by the distillery’s manager, Bob Dalgarno, from a mix of sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at his preferred drinking strength of 42.8%.
From place and production, to people and passion. The Macallan is the result of such defining mastery and intricacy, it is unmatched; peerless in each and every way. This is the definition of the "Peerless Spirit".
In 2009, world renown photographer Nick Veasey was asked to create custom images for Macallan. This is known as the "X-Ray" series as he used an x-ray machine instead of a traditional camera. The complete set contains 6 unique boxes.
