It may be hard to imagine today, but for much of the 20th century, Macallan was primarily a constituent malt in blends. It was not until the 1980s downturn in the market that the distillery decided to focus on its single malt brand. Fortuitously, this coincided with the crest of a wave of enthusiasm for the high quality releases that the distillery had licensed to Campbell, Hope & King and Gordon & MacPhail in the 1960s and 1970s. These remain some of the most collectible on the market. While global single malt sales volume is still lead by Speyside neighbours, Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, Macallan is easily the most sought after. So much so in fact, that they had to open a brand new distillery in 2018, a subterranean architectural masterpiece within the Easter Elchies estate, boasting 36 copper pot stills.
Yamazaki 18
An award winning Japanese single malt, Yamazaki's legendary 18 year old earned a Gold at the 2007 International Spirits Challenge and a Double Gold at the 2005 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A wonderful example of what Japanese whisky is capable of. Rich with mature autumn fruit. Extremely smooth, with great complexity and a lovely balance of fruit, silky malt and a touch of smoke.

The macallan fine oak 18, is triple-cask developed in a one of a kind blend of outstanding oak barrels. Notwithstanding European oak barrels prepared with Sherry, both American oak containers prepared with Sherry and American oak containers prepared with whiskey are likewise utilized. The exceptional characteristics of every container and The Macallan’s enduring promise to regular shading present an unpredictable test of guaranteeing predictable quality, character and shading a seemingly endless amount of time. To accomplish this, a great many individual barrels are tested to choose those that will at last be hitched together before packaging. Among specialists, Macallan Fine Oak 18 Year, is an exceptionally very much refreshing articulation in the center range. The fluid is dazzling, wealthy in season yet magnificently smooth and sensitive.
Lagavulin – 26 Year Old (2021 Special Release)
The standard Lagavulin single malt is 16 years old (43%), though they regularly release a 12-year-old cask strength variety, a Distiller's edition finished in Pedro Ximénez casks and 25- and 30-year-old varieties.
Lagavulin was owned by United Distillers & Vintners, which has now become part of Diageo plc.

The entry level bottling in Macallan's now-discontinued 1824 range, which was produced between 2012 and 2018, and consisted of the Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby (there were a few additions at the higher end of the scale as well). Despite the discontinuation of the range, the Gold expression was retained, transistioning to the entry level of the new Double Cask series.
The Masters of Photography series of whiskies by Macallan was launched in 2008 and contains numerous chapters, each showcasing the work of a legendary artist behind the lens. This is one of several Ernie Button limited editions.
The Macallan Aera
The Macallan Aera was launched in a limited edition in 2018 exclusively for nightclubs in Taiwan. The particularly dark bottling is intended to symbolize the mysterious nightlife and also one's own self. Here, too, the Macallan distillery pursues a special perfection and an uncompromising spirit.

Macallan 40 Year Old Red Collection
This exquisite, Old & Rare Macallan 40 Year Old was released as part of the highly sought after Red Collection, which proudly honours the legendary distillery’s use of the colour red throughout their history. It delivers a rich, elegant and moreish array of notes and comes packaged in a hand-crafted oak box made from the very same European oak the distillery uses for maturing. It’s a stunning, collectible expression that is highly limited in numbers.
